DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun and playful Beginners Introduction to Aerial Yoga. \nTopics included in this 2 hour experience: \n• Learn the anatomy of the aerial hammock and rigging \n• Be aware of safe practices and precautions \n• Practice a variety of poses with the hammock as standing support\, aerial and inversions for a fully balanced yoga class \n• Free play & have fun! \n• Hanging upside down is optional \n  \nThis 2hr class is open to to anyone. No previous yoga experience or aerial experience is required. This introductory class is designed for you to ‘Get to Know’ aerial yoga!\n  \nAbout Aerial Yoga\nAerial Yoga or Aerial Fitness is a fun way to move your body at any age. A silk hammock suspended from above is used in a variety of ways to support and help practice traditional yoga poses as well as put a new spin on them. For many people aerial yoga is more accessible than traditional yoga. From hip & shoulder openers\, inversions\, and balances\, to core work\, deep dynamic stretches and spine decompression\, aerial yoga offers new and diverse ways to connect with your body and breath. \nBenefits of Aerial Yoga include and are not limited to: \n• Improves blood circulation and moves stagnant blood in the body helping fight heart disease \n• Stimulates digestion through different kinds movement and stretches \n• Hanging freely upside down (inverting) eases hip joint tension and allows the body and spine to lengthen\, realign and decompress \n• Flushes lymphatic & circulatory systems to help detoxify the body \n• Offers a support tool to create stabilization for standing poses and assistance in deepening stretches \n• Improves flexibility and increases strength \n• Calms the nervous system & relieves stress in your hammock cocoon \n• Increase proprioception – Your body’s ability to sense movement\, action\, and location \n• Inversions increase blood flow to the brain\, giving it more oxygen & nutrients helping with concentration\, memory and clear thinking \n• Boosts mood by having fun! \n  \nInvite your friend\, partner or sibling to join you for an Introduction to Aerial Yoga in Penticton.\n• $40 + gst per person – Sign up and pay online OR Pay by e-transfer to steadyeffortyoga@gmail.com\n \n• Refreshments provided \n• Please dress in snug\, comfortable clothing. DESCRIPTION:Join us Wednesday\, December 21st for an evening of reflection and celebration on the darkest day of the year as we gather for a Winter Solstice Slow Down. Yule marks the time to celebrate the return of the Sun and also time to be still and reflect on what we can release so we can make space for bright\, new beginnings. \nThis 2 hour experience will include: \n• Community\, Ritual & a Mulled Winter Drink \n• Beeswax Candle Making \n• Restorative Aerial Yoga \n• Meditation & Reflective Journaling \n• Sound Bath in a hammock or anywhere you are most comfortable; a nest of blankets and pillows on the floor\, chair\, couch \n• A take home keepsake gift \nCan’t make this day or time work but still want to try some of the above activities? Gather a group and give us a call!
